Many large employers hire through Workday, but a company’s name doesn’t give you its Workday careers address. You need three parts the name leaves out: the tenant, the data center and the site. This guide shows how to find all three by hand, read the open jobs from Workday’s public JSON endpoint, and do the same for a whole company list in one run.
Most public Workday careers sites have an address of this shape:
https://{tenant}.{wdN}.myworkdayjobs.com/{site}
| Company | Workday careers site (checked 8 October 2026) |
|---|---|
| NVIDIA | nvidia.wd5. |
| Adobe | adobe.wd5. |
| Salesforce | salesforce.wd12. |
| Netflix | netflix.wd108. |
| Walmart | walmart.wd504. |
| Johnson & Johnson | jj.wd5. |
Four reasons the name isn’t enough:
jj, not johnsonjohnson.wd5, wd12, wd108 and wd504, and the right tenant on the wrong data center answers 422.NVIDIAExternalCareerSite, external_experienced and JJ follow no pattern, and one tenant often has several sites.liberty.wd5 is Liberty University’s, not Liberty Mutual’s. A name match alone isn’t proof.Open the company’s careers page, then any job or its Apply button. If the address bar shows myworkdayjobs.com, you have all three parts: the tenant and data center are in the host name, and the site is the first part of the path after any language code such as en-US. Some companies use wdN.myworkdaysite.com/ instead.
A tenant’s robots.txt lists its public careers sites, one Allow: line each. Its status code also tells you whether you have the right data center:
curl -s https://netflix.wd108.myworkdayjobs.com/robots.txt
# Allow: /Netflix/
# Allow: /Eyeline/
A 200 with Allow: lines is a tenant with public sites. A 422 means no such tenant on that data center (nvidia.wd1 answers 422; NVIDIA is on wd5). A 401 means the tenant exists but has no public careers site (apple.wd1). Not every listed site is the main one: Johnson & Johnson’s list also includes DisplacedEmployees.
Each careers site loads its jobs from a public JSON endpoint. POST to it with the tenant and site in the path:
curl -s -X POST -H 'content-type: application/json' \
https://adobe.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/wday/cxs/adobe/external_experienced/jobs \
-d '{"appliedFacets":{},"limit":20,"offset":0,"searchText":""}' | jq '.total'
# 408
Each job comes back with its title, path, location text and a posted-date bucket:
{"title": "Sr. Technical Account Manager",
"externalPath": "/job/Mexico-City/Sr-Technical-Account-Manager_R171924",
"locationsText": "Mexico City",
"postedOn": "Posted Yesterday"}
Three things to know before you build on this endpoint:
offset. Read total from the first page: on many sites later pages say 0.total tops out at 2,000, and any offset of 2,000 or more returns the same page again, so stop paging at 2,000.postedOn is a bucket: “Posted Today”, “Posted 3 Days Ago”, and for anything older, “Posted 30+ Days Ago”, which can mean a month or more than two years.Company Jobs looks up every company you give it. Paste names, domains or careers URLs and get their open jobs back in one schema, from Workday and 7 other applicant-tracking systems (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and 4 more).
matchConfidence, and the company’s status row adds workdayEvidence with the tenant, data center, site and why it was or wasn’t confirmed, e.g. “8 of 8 sampled postings name "NVIDIA" on its own”.workday:tenant:wdN:site, is read as given, with no lookup.jj). That comes back free; paste the board URL instead.workdayEvidence on name-only matches, give the domain with the name and set minMatchConfidence to high so a Workday match is charged only when the domain confirms it (this also drops medium matches on the other systems), or paste the board URL.Example: input {"companies": ["NVIDIA", "adobe.com"], "maxItems": 2}, run on 8 October 2026, found nvidia.wd5 (medium confidence, from the name) and adobe.wd5 (high, because all 8 sampled postings give adobe.com). Adobe’s status row reported 408 open jobs, 399 of them posted in the last 30 days. The first NVIDIA job row, trimmed:
{
"type": "job",
"title": "Senior Systems Architect - Datacenter",
"company": "NVIDIA",
"ats": "workday",
"atsSlug": "nvidia:wd5:NVIDIAExternalCareerSite",
"boardUrl": "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite",
"matchConfidence": "medium",
"matchedBy": "name",
"url": "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite/job/US-CA-Santa-Clara/Senior-Systems-Architect---Datacenter_JR2019127",
"location": "US, CA, Santa Clara",
"seniority": "senior",
"postedAtPrecision": "day"
}
$0.001 per job row ($1 per 1,000), no subscription. Companies not found, or not confirmed, are free. maxItems caps job rows, and so spend, for the run.
Limits: a run reads up to 1,000 jobs from each Workday site; the status row also gives Workday’s own total, which Workday caps at 2,000. A job in the “30+ days” bucket gets its exact date from the job’s own page when descriptions are on; otherwise it can have no posted date, never a guessed one. A company whose careers site is on a system we don’t cover (iCIMS, Taleo, SuccessFactors, Oracle) gets a free status row saying no supported board was found.
